Complex Behavior in Electronic
Systems
Workshop, University of Minho,
Braga, Portugal.
September 15 and 16, 2005.
Scope
|
This workshop intends to
review the recent advances in the understanding of complex electronic
behaviour in conventional bulk systems, low-dimensional materials, and
nanoscale systems, from an integrated perspective, encompassing theoretical,
experimental and application issues. Moreover, the new quantum systems of
ultra-cold atoms are also addressed. The application potential of complex
materials can only be realised if a thorough understanding of physical
behaviour is pursued. |
Topics
-
Magnetism in carbon allotropes and organic materials
-
Unusual electronic properties of correlated quantum systems
-
Quantum systems of ultra cold atoms
- Quantum dots,
nanodevices
and spintronics
- Quantum coherence,
decoherence and effects of disorder
